A vast amount of Driving School cars you see have markers (bits of tape) stuck on steering wheels, rear, side, front windows etc. Avoid them! This is indicative of how they teach i.e. they actually teach people how many turns of the wheel it takes to reverse around a bend, to 'line the kerb up' with marker points stuck on to windows and, often, don't teach clutch (fine) control at all . - Teaching how to pass the test (with luck) - not how to drive... Everyone knows people who have passed, can't reverse or park, seem confused and don't appear to have good control of the car. Hence 'you will learn how to DRIVE and not just to pass a test'.. This is the main reason for the, acclaimed, unacceptably low ability of new drivers and that the Driving Test etc shall change substantially soon. I will teach you clutch control and how to judge reversing and parking for your self so that you should feel confident when you are on your own - for life! Google review
Intensive courses If you are set on taking an intensive course make sure that: a) you have passed the theory test so that you can book a practical test at the end of your course. - Don't let a school sell and book you for a course with no test at the end of it. There are schools that do this. The problem being that you will either need to have individual lessons after it until you pass the theory test or, worse, you will need lessons to get back to the point you were at after the intensive course... b) before you book one you try a two or three hour lesson to make sure you can handle driving for how ever many six hour days you will need. Sometimes, after two or three hours, concentration can be hard. I t is best to take individual lessons while studying for and taking the theory test (by which time you practical driving will be well on the way) then decide what you want to do after passing your theory test.
